Chats
Text, voice messages, photos, videos and documents, one to one or in groups. Replies, reactions and disappearing messages.
Calls
Voice and video calls, one to one or in groups of up to six people, with screen sharing.
Stories
A photo, a few words or a voice note, visible to your friends for a while.
Friends only
Only people you have accepted can message you. You choose how others can find you.
Neighbourhood shops
Find the shops around you on the map, browse their products and message them directly.
On your computer too
Link your computer by scanning a code with your phone, and find your chats and calls there.
Privacy
Saying what is protected, and what is not yet.
We prefer an accurate promise to a flattering one. Here is where Gundo stands today.
Already in place
- On Android, one-to-one and group chats are end-to-end encrypted with the Signal protocol.
- Attachments in those chats are encrypted on your phone before they are sent.
- Your private keys stay on your device. The server only keeps public keys.
- A safety number lets you check that you are talking to the right person.
Not yet
- End-to-end encryption is not available on iPhone yet.
- The server still knows who writes to whom, and when.
- Calls are encrypted in transit, but not yet tied to verified identities.
- No independent security audit has been carried out yet.
